Today is our last day of Spanish for this school year! The only assignment that you have today is to turn in your seven-day journal of your emotions from the past week.
Over the summer, I will leave assigned readings for you to do on Garbanzo, space them out as you please. You do not have to do all of them in one sitting, but do keep in mind that coming next school year these readings will be part of the first trimester grade. Please keep yourself safe this summer, and as always, my prayers will extend to you!

¡Feliz lunes! Nuestro último lunes en este año escolar.
You should still be working on your assignment from last week Tuesday where you are writing down three times a day how you are feeling, in Spanish of course. Continue doing so, and between today and tomorrow work on the reading on Garbanzo titled 'Soy alérgico'. ¡Feliz martes!
I hope you had a wonderful weekend! Today what I want you to start is a week long project. You are going to create a table of seven days, like a calendar. Each day you are going to write the date, and at three different times of the day in Spanish write how you are feeling at that time of day. Each day you are to write at the same times, but you may be feeling different, which is OK. Make sure you write your sentence in Spanish about how you are feeling, and make an illustration to go along with it. The last day you are to report is next week Monday, June 1st. Tuesday, June 2nd, hand it in, and it will be your last assignment for this school year! Today you have a short reading on Garbanzo called 'La caja'...It's about a mysterious box that arrives at a boy's doorstep...
Once you are finished, enjoy your weekend, and if you need to catch up with any missing work, please do so! Remember, Monday is Memorial Day, so we do not have Spanish on Monday. Today we continue practicing the verb estar with our feelings and emotions, only today we are answering questions in Spanish. A question works just like in English. Here we have some notes:
---If the question is asking tú or usted, the answer has to be in the yo form. Image if someone is asking you a question, you answer by saing 'I....'. ---If the question is asking vosotros or ustedes, the answer has to be in the nosotros form. It's just like the example from before, only we have made it plural. ---If the question is is asking nosotros, the answer also is nosotros. ---If the question is asking él or ella, the answer is also él or ella. Here, you are asking about someone else that is not present. The same works for the plural ellos and ellas. Here is the link to today's questions practice. Remember to write your answers in Spanish AND in complete sentences. Spelling only counts for the verb estar and I will not take off points if you cannot type the accent mark. Today we have a different image of a worksheet to practice our use of estar, only this time, we are creating our own sentences! Thursday we filled in the blank. Today we have a table where we can mix and match to create 10 sentences. Take a look at the image: As you can see, you have an example. The example DOES NOT count as one of your 10 sentences. Yes, you can use the word more than once. No, it cannot be the same sentence written twice. ¡Feliz jueves! Yes, even though it's gloomy outside, the earth needs the water for it to grow and prosper! Take a look at the cropped image of today's worksheet. You do not have to download and print out anything, your answers you will type here at the end of today's post. Make sure your answers are complete sentences, not just the answer. We continue practicing the verb estar today. On yesterday's work, I didn't mark it wrong if you either forgot or weren't able to write in the accent mark since that is not our focus, yet. We are focusing on being able to use the correct form of the verb with the correct pronoun or subject.
Here is the link to today's practice interactive worksheet. Don't forget to type the accent mark for the a if you can! The link: https://www.liveworksheets.com/ex494614zj ¡Feliz lunes! We have talked about describing our feelings and emotions and have identified these feelings and emotions in people. Now, how do we actually use them? These emotions go with a verb in Spanish, estar. Take a look at the image. This is the verb in the present, which we will be focusing on. We already recognize the pronouns, yo, tú, ella. To practice the verb, click on the link at the bottom, it will take you to the interactive worksheet. There are 15 sentences where you have to type the correct form of the verb that goes in each sentences. Keep in mind, however, that accents count. To type the á, hit the ALT button at the same time you type 160 on the keypad on your laptop. https://www.liveworksheets.com/c?a=s&g=4th&s=Spanish&t=8difpa5oqy&m=d&l=xy&i=dotot&r=iz
